A Brain-Sticky Institute MINI-COURSE With Lizabeth Phelps:
The Magic Copy Ride: Writing Persuasively So Prospects Want You, Buy You and Sing Your Praises! My solo-preneur clients beg me to write copy for them, and sometimes they hoodwink me into it—but it’s not happening in the future. It doesn’t serve me or others to have me engrossed at my keyboard in projects for a few select people. Because I feel guilty about it sometimes, I finally broke down and decided to teach ONE and ONLY ONE, FOREVER (mark-my-words) crash-course on copywriting that sells. (I will teach this one course several times, but there won’t be bigger, longer copywriting courses to follow. This is the only one I’ll do.) This is NOT an editing course, where you give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses of copy, yearning to breathe free…This is an information course that shares the “must-have-or-you’ll-go-broke” elements of copy that works. It is my intention that with this information, you will go into the world and write copy well enough that you get yourself clients and then hire a professional copywriter. In this course, I will break the art and psychology of persuasive copy into usable bits that (if you use them) will instantly improve your website, sales letters and brochure copy. You’ll learn by example. I’ll show you copy that works, and tell you why it works; and copy that misses the mark—and what it’s doing wrong. We’ll talk about headlines and the first sentence. And what to say in the rest of the text. And we’ll talk about typical problem-points: wrong target market; poorly crafted offers; weak arguments. Then we’ll move into the most important aspect of killer-copy: the psychological component. What do people want? Need? What moves and motivates them--and how do you trigger that with words? People ask me all the time: can copywriting be learned? Can writing in general be learned? Personally, I “came in” with this skill. The tips I learned in school refined what I was already wired to do. I’m not sure I believe everyone can write great fiction or killer copy. But I do know that you can learn what does not work and eliminate it from your own attempts—and you can learn what does work and apply it to get clients and grow your solopreneur business. As it advances, you will probably want to hire a writer. (Not me. This crash-course is a full two hours and comes with hand-outs. You will also receive a suggested “to-do” action guide to get you started writing your own copy after the class. If you’ve got a business you’re serious about, do not pass GO. Go straight to this mini-course! Yes! I want to know critical copywriting keys so my prospects eagerly want my services and buy them!
